New version of the Bogie EA released on June 1st
A new version of the famous "Bogie" EA by William Boatright was released on June 1st 2008 and is now available for free download/testing until Sept 1st 2008.
William Boatright (“wackena”), the winner of the 2nd place in the 2007 Automated Trading Championship (ATC) has recently re-worked his famous “Bogie-ATC2007-1” EA using neural networks in the internal algorithms.
The reason? Bogie was getting bogged down, due to changing market conditions.
During the 3 months (82 days to be exact) of the tournament Bogie had generated $45K of profit from the initial $10,000 deposit for a total of $55,042.10, bringing William Boatright the second place and the prize of $25,000! Impressive.
However, in January this year Bogie started experiencing difficulties. Here's what Mr. Boatright advised his subscribers:
Following through on this, Mr. Boatright quickly found a way to improve the performance of his Electronic Adviser:I've been concerned over the several loses that this EA had in January.
The EURUSD price movements is being heavily influenced by global securities markets. 2 to 7 % securities swings in single day is making it difficult for EA to detect sustainable daily price movement. The past success of this EA has been that daily trends detected at StartTime would continue long enough to close with profit. The last few weeks, the EURUSD price has erratically moved up and down several times per day.
It is quite evident to me, that until the global securities market stabilizes, this EA could continue to make loses. I can only suggest that until this market stabilizes, you should only run Demo or very low risk on Live accounts.
As previously reported, the success of Bogie-ATC2007 EA is its ability to detect daily trends (swings) at a predetermined time of day (a daily time based trend recognition system), and, the fact, that the daily trend detected at StartTime would continue long enough to secure a small profit. It requires that most days, after StartTime daily news is over and current bullish or bearish trend will continue until next day.
In January 2008, there were a steady stream of news releases either just before or soon after StartTime. The EA has problem with this current erratic volatile market where there are repeated 100-300 pips daily spike swings.
Recently, I began testing a Neural Network (NN) indicator to filter trade signals to be more selective on order entry. The results have been very promising...
What this means for YOU, is that since the NN adviser is still under heavy development, probably in preparation for this year's championship, William has allowed anyone to download and demo-test the EAs for FREE!
The offer is valid until Sept. 1st, so if you would like to get your very own FREE copy of the new Bogie EA you can get it from:
